We were camping in Crestone, a spiritual village in southern colorado, when we awoke to the first rainfall I’ve seen in weeks and weeks (maybe even a month). That day we packed up and chased the storm all the way north along the rocky mountains to Boulder. Here, while it hasn’t rained much either, the streams are still overflowing with snow-melt.
This is a monochromatic under-painting done in one sitting in a park in Boulder.
And the same painting a few days later after adding several layers of thin glazing.
