Yesterday I walked around near Washington Square Park

I’m trying to find a better balance between line and mass in my drawing. I feel that the masses – the shadows – have been overpowering the line work and pushing things to farther towards ‘painterly’ than I want. So I tried a few line only:

As well as some with only minimally informed masses

Not sure if I made any breakthroughs.
