In the union square station there’s a small area with no purpose other than a way to get from one line to another. For whatever reason MTA has placed two benches there. Because you can’t see any tracks there’s no point in waiting for a train there, so most people who sit there aren’t actually going anywhere. I’ve met some interesting people there including this gentlemen who was quite an intellectual and with whom I had some interesting conversations:
Who knows what these people are waiting for.
Of course these people (customers of the Starbucks above Union Station) aren’t going anywhere either. But the had to buy a coffee for the privilege to do so.
